What are your terms and conditions?
FTP access.
To obtain ftp access to your site use the following:
FTP server address: ftp.yourdomain.co.nz or/ ftp.mydns.net.nz
together with the userid and password provided.
Recommended FTP client software:
- ws_ftp
- cute_ftp
- dreamweaver
- fireftp
Web sites activity statistics access.
4success supplies comprehensive web site stats reporting for each of it's hosted web sites. You can access these stats by entering your web site URL followed by /stats/ e.g. http://www.yourdomain.co.nz/stats/ enter userid and password as requested (if needed).
You will then have access to a control panel providing access to the following web stats information:
- AWstats Log Analyzer: a detailed reporting package providing comprehensive reports on visitor and server activity associated with your site.
- Webalizer log Analyzer: a simpler reporting package providing various reports related to visitor activity on your site.
- Web server Raw Access Logs: download the raw server logs associated with your site for local analysis and reporting, requires the use of suitable software to read and analysis the logs.
- Web server Error Logs: a report showing recent error logs - useful for locating pages visitors are trying to access but no longer exist.
Email account setup and access.

Instructions for access (choose between web based or email client software pop3 e.g. outlook, outlook express, thunderbird etc):
Method 1 - Via a web based interface. (for remote viewing)
1/ visit http://webmail2.mydns.net.nz/
2/ You should now have welcome to Horde window.
3/ Enter your "username" and "password" as given above.
4/ Use the application to manage your emails.
Method 2 -
Via Outlook Express (or other email client for downloading)
To use POP3 mailbox on our server you will need to configure your email program to send and receive email as follows:
Steps to set up your new email account (eg, Outlook Express)
- Create a new account
- The incoming mail POP server is pop.yourdomain.co.nz. As an alternative, you can use pop.mydns.net.nz.
- The outgoing mail SMTP server should be set to your ISP's SMTP server. e.g. smtp.isp.co.nz or as provided by your ISP (we do not provide SMTP server as a protection for our clients against using servers for SPAM generation) .
- Enter your user name as provided.*1
- Enter your password for the account as provided.*1
2/ To read emails.
Connect to internet.
Open email client software and use send / receive function to download emails.
You will now be able to send and receive email using this account.
Accounts have 10M storage limits - although this is not strictly enforced. Warnings will be issued and action taken if abuse occurs.
Password management:
The management of email account passwords and setting or removing users needs to be done via the 4success support.

Email account types.
We offer the following email options for sites hosted with 4success Ltd.
- Email forwarding.
- Pop accounts with web mail support.
Spam Filtering.
4success web hosting provides an email Spam filtering service. Since we know it is important to you to receive your valid emails. We do not automatically set up our email server to delete potential spam emails.
All incoming emails are scanned for potential spam, if an email is identified as potential spam, the word "spam:" and a number (5 to 10) are added to the header. The number being a level of probably of spam.
Client software can therefore be setup to filter potential spam emails by looking for the word spam in email header. These can be moved to another folder for reviewing and deleting as required.
The email service can be set to automatically delete emails with a probably above a selected number. So after a period of time you may wish to set this auto delete into practice and automatically delete any email with a factor above for example "8 " if later you find it can be set lower - this can be changed - simply notify 4success to change level.
