Email account setup and access.

Account details required (specific for each email account) *1:

Email address: as provided
Username: as provided
Password: as provided

Instructions for access (choose between web based or email client software pop3 e.g. outlook, outlook express, thunderbird etc):

Method 1 - Via a web based interface. (for remote viewing)
1/ visit http://webmail2.mydns.net.nz/
2/ You should now have welcome to Horde window.
3/ Enter your "username" and "password" as given above.
4/ Use the application to manage your emails.

Method 2 - Via Outlook Express (or other email client for downloading)
To use POP3 mailbox on our server you will need to configure your email program to send and receive email as follows:

Steps to set up your new email account (eg, Outlook Express)

  1. Create a new account
  2. The incoming mail POP server is pop.yourdomain.co.nz. As an alternative, you can use pop.mydns.net.nz.
  3. The outgoing mail SMTP server should be set to your ISP's SMTP server. e.g. smtp.isp.co.nz or as provided by your ISP (we do not provide SMTP server as a protection for our clients against using servers for SPAM generation) .
  4. Enter your user name as provided.*1
  5. Enter your password for the account as provided.*1

2/ To read emails.
Connect to internet.
Open email client software and use send / receive function to download emails.

You will now be able to send and receive email using this account.

Accounts have 10M storage limits - although this is not strictly enforced. Warnings will be issued and action taken if abuse occurs.

Password management:
The management of email account passwords and setting or removing users needs to be done via the 4success support.
